The Art of Forcing Bulbs

Transform the gray days of winter into a season of blooms.

Jan 31, 2026. From: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and From: 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM

While the garden sleeps outside, your home can be filled with the fragrance of hyacinths and the bright cheer of daffodils. Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn the "magic" of bulb forcing -the process of tricking spring-flowering bulbs into blooming early indoors. All tools and equipment, including vessel will be provided. Each participant will create and take home a display including a variety of flowering bulbs.

What You’ll Learn

  • The Science of Chilling: Understand why certain bulbs need a "winter nap" and how to provide it.

  • Variety Selection: Which bulbs work best for forcing (Paperwhites, Amaryllis, Muscari, and more).

  • Planting Techniques: How to plant in soil versus "hydroponic" forcing in water and pebbles.
