A DC250 Cultural Experience Exploring Freedom, Legacy & Regional History

As Washington, DC commemorates America’s 250th anniversary, author, cultural historian, and professional tour guide Lauri Williamson, in partnership with Politics & Prose Bookstore, brings you this powerful journey to Maryland’s Eastern Shore honoring the life and legacy of Harriet Tubman


Experience a day trip from the nation’s capital to explore the landscapes that shaped one of America’s most courageous freedom fighters. This immersive experience connects regional history to the broader American story of resilience, faith, and the ongoing pursuit of freedom


Departure Details




  • Meet at 7:30 a.m. at Politics & Prose, 5015 Connecticut Avenue NW, in the Den Café. Bus departs at 8:00 a.m.




  • Enjoy coffee and bagels before departure




  • Chartered bus departs at 8:00 a.m.




  • Scenic drive approximately two hours each way




  • Lunch at a local restaurant (pay on your own)




  • Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes
