Free virtual lecture at DAR Museum
Jun 10, 2025. 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Lewis Buckner is considered one of Tennessee's premier cabinetmakers of the late 19th century. He lived at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains during a time in which both his craft and his rural community faced the rise of industrialization. Against these odds, this Black craftsperson made a name for himself using his elaborate designs and fine craftsmanship.
Speaker: Annabeth Dooley, Independent Scholar, Nashville, Tennessee
This event is taking place online only. The speaker will not be present at the DAR Museum.
