Fall 2024 Edition
Think Washington, DC for travel stories this fall and beyond. Here’s why:
• Headline-worthy hotels are generating buzz. DC's first Arlo is expecting to open this fall. The new construction incorporates a building that has stood since 1882 and features a wraparound terrace. In addition, the luxurious Salamander Washington, DC anticipates completing its phased enhancements, with a two-story spa and highly anticipated restaurant from acclaimed chef Kwame Onwuachi.
• New attractions await, including "The People's House: A White House Experience," opening Sept. 23 at 1700 Pennsylvania Avenue (free entry with timed passes). A new centerpiece to the World War I Memorial, "A Soldier's Journey," will be installed Sept. 13 as the highest free-standing bronze sculpture in the western hemisphere.
• DC boasts a busy list of noteworthy exhibits, festivals and events. Theatre Week kicks off Sept. 26 with more than 30 productions offering $20/$40/$60 pricing.
